    Healing is the key.

    Not marketing. Not more capital.
Not a new agent, a new VA, a new revenue model.
Not more content. Not a better credit score. Not a new partner.

    Healing is the key.

You can't really win before you heal.

The house is built on four virtues

    Honesty
    Humility
    Patience
    Sincerity
    The House

We Good Ova Here, Inc. is the first nonprofit venture studio led by the formerly incarcerated, healing the inner child through business, tech and culture.

Check every lane. Therapy stops at the wound and never touches the business. Business coaching starts after the wound and pretends it healed. Workforce programs hand out resumes and treat the symptom. Everyone keeps their lane and their dignity. We simply own the lane none of them will enter: we work the whole human, because we are the population we serve.

    Wellness

The nervous system settles first. Everything else has somewhere to stand.

    Education

Digital life skills for the AI era, so what you build travels anywhere.

    Housing Stability

The walk home lands on solid ground, with wraparound support at the door.

    The Why

You found us, and something in you recognized it before you finished reading the name.

There's a gap between you and where you really want to be. The ceremonies didn't close it. The courses didn't close it. The gurus didn't close it. You still wake up with anxiety that's structural, working hard, drinking from a repackaged glass of dopamine and empty promises.

The one thing that was never handed to you first was safety. Over here, we lead with it. Safety for you, and safety for the younger part of you that learned to brace before anybody taught it to build. Over here, we make sure your nervous system settles first. We do that with movement, breath, and stillness. First. Everything else flows from there naturally.

After that, we help you find your rhythm. Find your purpose. Clean it up. Make some progress. Then we rinse and repeat, and always tie it back to your purpose. Purpose. Progress. Prosperity. That loop runs the same for the man coming home from prison or the woman coming home to herself, and vice versa. Same rhythm every time.

    The Model

We are a nonprofit venture studio.

    Healing first. Business second.

We fund ourselves through membership, earned revenue, and partners who understand that a settled nervous system is the first infrastructure. An undercapitalized community that owns its own tools stops asking permission and starts building the future it can already see.

    Purpose

Read the map. Astrology, Human Design, the I Ching, BaZi, Gene Keys. Strategic instruments that calibrate your timing.

    Progress

Pair the healed self with AI-era tools and build something that travels anywhere.

    Prosperity

Own what you built. Tie it back to purpose. Then run the loop again.

Golden handcuffs lock from the inside. A child who needs to feel safe holds them shut. Healing is the key.

    The Programs

Five doors. One rhythm running through all of them.

Three lanes carry the work: wellness, education, housing stability. Every program wraps around the whole person. The ancient math tells you who you are and when to move. The tools make what you build travel to any city, any country, any future you decide to walk into.

    01

    Whole-Person Wellness

The nervous system comes first. Movement, breath, meditation, stillness, and nutrition settle the body so the inner child stops bracing and the work can finally move.

    02

    Business Tech Culture

A 90-day cohort. Twenty-eight days each of Discovery, Development, and Delivery. You walk out with digital life skills for the AI era and the ability to live off your own talent.

    03

    Housing Stability

    In development

We connect justice citizens coming home to housing partners and wraparound support, so the walk home lands on solid ground. The referral network opens first. The rest gets built as the funding matures.

    04

    Young Simba Academy

A Jegnaship for young founders, ages thirteen to eighteen. History, chess, movement, and entrepreneurship, with teams matched by their own charts. Black history plus the tools of now.

    05

    AI Commons

Community-owned AI infrastructure. We treat AI as a multiplier of human potential, and we build the rails ourselves so an undercapitalized community owns its own tools.

    Where do you fit?

Members walk in through the porch. Funders and partners walk in through the studio. Both doors are open.

    The Receipts

Twenty years of continuity, on paper.

This mission has a paper trail older than most nonprofits' logos. Every claim below has a receipt.

    1967

    The Precedent

Before this house existed, this city set the tone. Winston-Salem State, coached by Clarence "Big House" Gaines, went 30-1 behind Earl "The Pearl" Monroe's 41.5 points a game and became the first HBCU to win an NCAA championship in any sport. On Tobacco Road, winning first out of the overlooked house is a local tradition. We build in that lineage.

    2006

    The Notebook

A grant-writing class in Winston-Salem. A teacher named Toniette Barber let the founder in on one condition: never do it alone. Inside that class, As Real As It Gets, a Jegnaship for boys thirteen to eighteen, grew younger and became One Village Academy, a school built on chess, meditation, martial arts, tennis, golf and entrepreneurship for five, six and seven year old Black boys. He wrote the problem statement by hand.

    2007

    The Interruption

A probation violation took thirteen months, July 2007 to August 2008. An appeals court later overturned the sentence. Even the system admitted the cage was wrong. He kept the notebook.

    2008

    The Walk

Eighteen years of the healing journey the mission required. A Sifu since 2004. A professional astrologer since 2008, teaching the craft since 2014. Initiations across traditions and continents, and eighteen months in Bali deepening the medicine. The whole time, he held the vision of a safe place for the inner child.

    2026

    The Charter

The tools finally matched the blueprint. He mastered the AI stack, built his own chart engine, gathered two hundred paying community members before the nonprofit existed, and put a board around the vision. The notebook became the charter. Same architecture, third build, and this time the builder owns the rails.

    The Stewards

A board that can pass a federal audit and a corner-store conversation in the same afternoon.

We Good Ova Here, Inc. is a board-governed public charity. The people below carry the house.

    Board Chair & Founder

    Sifu Oyi Sun

Professional astrologer and Sifu of twenty-five years. Wrote the 2006 problem statement by hand, walked the healing journey the mission required, and keeps the medicine moving.

    Vice Chair & Co-Founder

    DeWon Tarpley

Technology lead. Builds the AI rails and has run seven-figure federal technical-assistance contracts.

    Secretary

    Laura Almirez

Seventeen years in nonprofit work, bilingual, certified in the AI tools funders now ask about, and the connective tissue between the house and the community.

    Treasurer

    Joy Samuel

Business educator and the money integrity of the house. Guards the numbers with a community-lender's conscience so the mission stays fundable and clean.

    Director, Research & Medical Affairs

    Dr. Denise Vidot

Cannabis epidemiologist and NIH-invited researcher. Anchors community-research partnerships, so the science stands behind the population we serve.

    Building the board

We add stewards who move in person and carry weight. If that is you, the studio door is open.

    For Members

Walk in through the front porch.

The community lives on Skool. You get the rhythm work, the cohorts, and a room where you can carry a felony, read your chart, and still be fully respected. If you are done grinding, you are already home.

    • Nervous-system regulation and de-conditioning culture
    • The rhythm work: Moon Magic, Prosperity 365, the BTC cohort
    • 200-plus people who already decided they were good over here
    • Healing you can feel in your relationships: how you love, how you parent, who you choose
    Fund the Work

Fund a machine that funds itself.

We wrap wellness, education and housing stability around every person we serve: one house, wraparound support, and research collaboration capability seated on the board. Grants, sponsorship, in-kind, or a seat at the table. Tell us how you want to move.

In 2006 this mission was a handwritten notebook and a condition from a teacher named Toniette Barber: never do it alone. Twenty years of receipts later, the notebook became a charter. In 2026, We Good Ova Here, Inc. opened its doors in Winston-Salem.

We Good Ova Here, Inc. is organizing as a 501(c)(3). Determination is in progress, so contributions are not yet tax-deductible. This form opens a conversation, it does not process a gift.
